Psychotherapy
Much of life’s challenge is about staying connected to what is important for you. There are many demands on our time and attention which can be hard to prioritise. Psychotherapy is a unique place to slow down and reconnect with the feelings and relationships that matter most. I offer a supportive space to deepen self-understanding and develop new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
Psychotherapy involves developing an understanding and awareness of the stories we tell about ourselves. In my therapy sessions we explore these stories and work together at uncovering a deeper understanding of the feelings that accompany the narrative, and the way they can hold us back. A new perspective can lead to a new understanding and to a changing of the narrative. Through this process, therapy can improve relationships and facilitate a deeper sense of wellbeing.
Core Process Psychotherapy
Core Process Psychotherapy enlarges the western models of therapy to include the transpersonal, imaginal, spiritual and spacious qualities of psyche and soul. You do not need to be Buddhist or have a particular interest in Buddhism to benefit from this form of psychotherapy. The increasing use of mindfulness in many types of therapies highlights its relevance to the challenges we face today.
We all carry some degree of stress and trauma in our body-mind which shows up in multiple different ways, impacting relationships, work, sleep, mental health and general health and wellbeing. I work with many issues that may include - low mood – anxiety and fear - loneliness - addiction - bereavement - trauma - relationship difficulties – existential fear.
